Back in action: A day of sport, movement, and community in Lviv
On June 25, Levitate joined forces with the UNBROKEN Ukraine Foundation in Lviv for a special event dedicated to movement, confidence, and community. The day brought together Ukrainian defenders, many of whom have undergone amputations, to reconnect with sport and rediscover the joy of running and playing basketball.
Together with patients from UNBROKEN, we spent the day on the basketball court — moving, training, and gaining further experience with their Levitate prosthetics designed for active lifestyles. With the support of physical therapists, prosthetists, and a coach from the PROBIG club, participants were guided through drills that focused on speed, agility, and teamwork.
One of the participants, Mykhailo Ternavskyi, shared his powerful experience:
“I ran for the first time in six months. It’s an incredible feeling, like I’m living life to the fullest again. It’s just a miracle!”
The event also welcomed patients who already have experience using their prosthetics, allowing for peer-to-peer encouragement and the exchange of practical insights.
We extend our sincere thanks to the UNBROKEN Foundation and its Executive Director Oleksandr Kobzarev for the meaningful collaboration and for being with us on the ground.
This day reminded us all of the strength, determination, and resilience of Ukraine’s defenders — and of what’s possible when community and innovation come together.
