LET’S RUN FOR THE UNBROKEN: Levitate at the Nova Poshta Lviv Half Marathon 2025
On May 4, the streets of Lviv hosted one of the key sporting events of the season: the Nova Poshta Lviv Half Marathon. The event was organized with barrier-free access, ensuring that athletes of all abilities could take part on equal terms. Over 5,000 participants joined the race in support of Ukrainian veterans, barrier-free projects, and the patients of the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center.
Our colleagues Jacob and Chris took part in the 10 km race, joining thousands of others on the track. We were proud to stand alongside all runners, not just as a company, but as a partner supporting equal access to movement and sport.
60 patients from the UNBROKEN Center took part, each with their own story, strength, and reason to run. Among them was 14-year-old Yana Stepanenko. After losing both legs in a missile strike in 2022, Yana is now a global symbol of resilience. This was her fourth race. Earlier this year, Yana helped raise funds for double amputee veterans Oleksandr Zhavnenko, running in both Boston and Tokyo to give others the same chance at movement. And today, Oleksandr ran his first race since his injury, powered by the very prosthetics Yana helped fund.
Another standout moment came from 40-year-old Mykola Shot, a veteran who lost all his limbs due to war. Just days ago, he received his running shoes. Today, alongside his physical therapist, he completed his very first kilometer.
Events like this show what’s possible when accessibility and community come together. 💛🇺🇦
