For Ihor Zobkiv, a soldier of Ukraine’s 80th Separate Assault Brigade, no mountain is too high—literally.

For Ihor Zobkiv, a soldier of Ukraine’s 80th Separate Assault Brigade, no mountain is too high—literally.

After losing both legs in combat, Ihor has remained committed to staying active and continuing his recovery journey. This March, he set out to reach one of Ukraine’s most symbolic locations: the foot of Hoverla, the country’s highest peak.

But this climb was about more than just navigating tough terrain and winter conditions. At the top, surrounded by fellow soldiers, volunteers, and friends, Ihor proposed to his girlfriend, Mariia—and she said yes.

We first met Ihor during our Test Run event in September 2024, organized in partnership with U+. That day, he took his first steps using Levitate prosthetics. Seeing him now, standing strong on the side of a mountain just a few months later, is something we’re genuinely proud of.

Ihor wasn’t alone on this journey. Over 200 participants joined the hike, including soldiers from the 80th Separate Assault Brigade, the 2nd Galician Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, and civilians. The event also aimed to raise funds for drones and essential support for Ukraine’s defenders.
At Levitate, we’re proud to see Ihor using our prosthetic solutions to move forward. Both in everyday life and in moments like these.
