The journey to Kyiv: Our first test run event in Ukraine
We've recently embarked on our second visit to Ukraine. Partnering with U+ System once more, we went to host our first test run in Ukraine. It was a testament to the power of the Ukrainian spirit and cutting-edge technology working hand in hand to transform lives.
Nearly a week ago we sent our visionary Product Engineer, Jacob Bolton, to Kyiv with cases full of running blades and Levitate Forever feet. The mission: to host our first proper test run event for Ukrainian veterans together with U+ System, a local organization run by frontline surgeon Oleksandra Mostepan.
The veterans had an incredibly fearless approach to their new feet, taking on the grassy field without hesitation. One of the stars of the show was Oleksander, who we fitted with a Levitate Forever and a running blade weeks in Lviv weeks prior to the event in Kyiv. Now Oleksander took it upon himself to teach others the art of running to his fellow Ukrainian veterans.
Reflecting on the event, Jacob Bolton, Levitate's Product Engineer, expressed his profound admiration for the resilience of the Ukrainian people. He remarked, "I'm struggling to find the perfect words for what happened here in Kyiv. Witnessing the smiles on the faces of Ukraine's war heroes as they realized they could now live an active life—it's a feeling that cannot be described. I am deeply honored to have met these individuals and to have listened to their personal stories."
