Levitate in China: Connecting Through Training and Hands-On Experience
What does it take to bring prosthetic technology closer to the people who use it? For Levitate, it starts with showing up, sharing knowledge and listening.
As part of a two-week tour across China, our team visited Shanghai and Xiamen to spend time with our partner Teh Lin, working alongside prosthetists, clinical staff and prosthesis users to explore our products.
Learning, sharing and trying things firsthand
The first stop was Shanghai, where we held product training at Teh Lin’s local office before joining a group of prosthesis users for a Test Run day. Participants had different activity levels and experiences, bringing a range of perspectives to the day.
The programme combined a session on anatomy, lower-limb amputation, muscle development and rehabilitation with practical activities organised by the Levitate and Teh Lin teams. Participants could try the Levitate range for themselves, including our Running Blades, and everyone received a diploma to mark their participation.
Just as important as introducing the products was hearing from the people trying them. Their experiences, questions and feedback gave us a better understanding of what matters in everyday use. The Forever S received particularly positive feedback, making the day a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
From Shanghai, the team continued to Xiamen to meet with Teh Lin’s local office, which serves the wider Fujian region. After another product training session, a second Test Run brought local prosthesis users into the conversation, creating more opportunities to try our products, exchange experiences and learn from one another.
Connecting with communities around the world
Taking our products from our headquarters in Denmark to China is an opportunity to do more than introduce our technology to a new market. It allows us to work alongside local clinical teams, understand the needs of the people they support and hear directly from prosthesis users about their experiences.
Being there in person gives us a better understanding of the challenges, priorities and perspectives that shape prosthetic care in different parts of the world.
