From Combat to Comeback: Levitate Empower Ukrainian Soldiers on Historic Khortytsia Island

From Combat to Comeback: Levitate Empower Ukrainian Soldiers on Historic Khortytsia Island

On April 29, Khortytsia Island in Zaporizhzhia, a historic stronghold of the Ukrainian Cossacks and a lasting symbol of resilience and freedom, hosted an important milestone in veteran rehabilitation. Organized by U+ System in collaboration with Levitate, the event marked the 18th Sports Prosthetics Project, aimed at promoting active recovery through advanced prosthetic technology.

We equipped 22 soldiers and rescue workers, each of whom lost a limb in combat, with prosthetic devices designed to support active movement and mobility. Whether they're training, returning to daily routines, or continuing their service. Our goal is to help them stay physically engaged and regain independence in everyday life.

Each participant received a personalized fitting and adaptation session, supported by the experienced rehabilitation team from U+ System.
The event also gave patients a chance to test their new prosthetics through dynamic activities inspired by Cossack traditions, such as saber and whip handling, archery, and axe throwing.

Hosting the event on Khortytsia Island, a place rich in military history, highlighted the commitment to support Ukraine’s defenders as they move forward in their recovery and daily lives.
